Philippe Couillard is from Montreal. At 28, he became a neurosurgeon and taught medicine for seven years. In 2003, he was elected MP for Mount Royal. He was the Minister of Health and Social Services and then Minister responsible for the Capitale-Nationale region. After a short break from politics, he became leader of the Liberal Party of Quebec in 2013, then premier on April 7, 2014. Philippe Couillard is also the father of three children and grandfather of two grandchildren.
